Finding everyday supports
Returning to what supports you, here and now.

Build a short list of supports available in your surroundings and your day.
Giving the ordinary a place
After a significant experience, ordinary actions can feel very close or very distant. The aim of this step is modest: notice what helps you inhabit your day. It is neither about erasing the experience nor reproducing its intensity.
A meal at a time that suits you, a moment outdoors if your health allows, a conversation or a quiet corner can offer points of reference. Choose from your actual situation, especially if you are still recovering.
Notice without forcing
If you wish, look around and name three objects. Notice the light, a color or a familiar sound. You can feel the contact of an object held in your hand without changing your breathing or closing your eyes. If this suggestion feels unpleasant or uncomfortable, leave it: a familiar activity may suit you better.
These suggestions are invitations to attend to everyday life, not a treatment. There is no particular state you have to reach and no result you have to achieve.
Building a manageable day
Instead of reorganizing your whole life, choose just one point of reference to try tomorrow. Specify the time, the action and a smaller version if your energy is low. “Get some fresh air after lunch” can become “open the window and look outside.” What matters is that it is doable for you.
If your sleep, eating or ability to manage daily life remain disrupted, a health professional can help you take stock. You can discuss the experience and its effects without having to defend an interpretation.

My map of supports
Look for possibilities that already exist around you.
- Note a place where you feel reasonably at ease.
- Add a person, a familiar object and a simple activity.
- Choose one support you could return to today.
- Plan a lighter version in case your energy changes.
YOUR NOTEBOOK
A few words for yourself.
One question, a few words or no writing at all is enough. Your answers are neither submitted nor saved. Export them before changing pages if you wish to keep them. You can also write in your own notebook.
A small, accessible point of reference can have its place alongside the big questions.
